Social Hiking Trial

I’m trying to embed ‘Social Hiking’ maps onto the blog. This is technology and I’m a technophobe…

For the members of the congregation that are not rabid beardy walkers and who have not come across ‘Social Hiking’ before, (no sniggering at the back, please!) you can zoom in & out of the map, and by clicking and holding your left mouse button you can scroll the map to wherever takes your fancy – in fact anywhere in Britain, should the fancy take you. Impressive stuff.

These three maps are those for this year’s PreWalkDaunder, which is being held in the North Lakes for no better reason than the start point is very close to an excellent pub.

    2. Thistlebottom, Park End and Seat go together well, no?

      (fnarrr fnarrr)

That said, it's probably best to stay away from Clay Gap.

  2. Well done with the Technology.
I may use it on mine.
Send us some info now you are a guru.
I just cannot be arsed to look it up sir.

But I am liking the look of it.
I used to use Of freemapping, but it was a bit of a bugger.

There are a few things that still baffle me, but I'm sure if I grind away at it I'll crack them!
      It is a cracking tool.
      Thank you.

    2. That last reply of yours made me snigger, snigger, snigger. I still have a very juvenile school boy mind almost 40 years after ceasing to be a school boy.

    3. I'll let Croydon, the Chair of the DaunderDisciplineCommittee, have a word with you, young man.
      There might be pain.

    1. Dear Heart!
Shall we all bow down to your magnificence?
Talk amongst yourselves whiles we all think about that.
It's always easy when you know how and you have the age advantage of a young techie-thing. Us Wrinklies take a little longer. However, like the tortoise, we get there, eventually.

  5. Excellent work, young man! Nothing better than a fine detailed map to while away the wet, rainy evenings ... I tried to scroll out to get Australia, but that didn't work. Never mind! You have enough to be going on with there.

Today I have been washing my bootlaces for my trip to Aviemore this Tuesday. I've used lots of Fairy Liquid and hot water and dried them in the sunshine on my window sill.
A chap cannot possibly go to the rabidly northern places with dirty bootlaces.
      Standards must be observed.

    2. ...and don't forget your old school tie Alan. You never know who you might meet.

    3. Indeed, Gordon.
I should take my Sandy Lane Infants School tie.
      An elite place!
