Found! Another set of TGO Challenge pictures, from my eighth crossing in 2002, when I walked from Glenelg to St Cyrus with Mick Coady. We got in from the standby list with a few days to go and so camped all the way across, not having had time to book any accommodation. It was quite a good route with long wild stretches and we had some “interesting weather” which is why there a few days missing, as the camera was inside the rucksack.
Mick broke his ankle on the way in to Tarfside towards the end of Day 12. He used his walking poles as crutches whilst I carried his pack, but in the end he had to abandon the walk and went off to hospital, not happy!
They’re not very good quality pictures as they are the digital version that Boots used to do when you had your film developed but they bring back happy memories.
