My second camp of my next Challenge will be at Lochan Dubh. Or Oban bothy, depending on circumstances.
Have you been through Gleann an Obain Bhig to Glen Pean and do you have any recollection of the northerly side of both glens. In other words : is it possible to come down to Lochan Dubh from the northern side (coming from Carn Mor/Meall nan Each) ?
Theo: Pretty good: Your second answer is sort of right: It's looking back towards Gleann an Obain Bhig from above Lochan Leum an t-Sagairt in Glean Pean.
I presume this is the lochan you want to descend to? (You mentioned Lochan Dubh) It's really steep all the way down and I wouldn't want to do it in bad wet weather. There are crags not shown on the OS 1:50k map as well. Looking at it from where I took the photo there is a little hut 100m or so up the northern hillside immediately to the west of the lochan and so there is a path down from there.
THIS PICTURE shows the hillside you are thinking of descending. The pocture was taken from about NM894884, looking North Eastwards.

I forgot that although you weren't with me on my 2004 crossing we did the same bit as our FWA in 2010 together after our disastrous defeat on Sgurr nan Coireachan in the storms...
Having said that, I am amazed you remembered the Oban Bothy shot with all the alcohol you sank that evening... and remembering that the tree has gone was pretty good too. I thought that would fox a lot of people...
I'm right out of Talisker too! You *do* get 100 'Smug Points' though.
THEO: THIS PICTURE might also helps as it shows the same hillside slightly further west of the other and also a little higher up Meall nan Each as well.
