Ramblings

If you have stuff to do, you can leave now; You’re not going to be interested in this post. It’s a catch-up for the last few months, most of which have been dark, very wet and a bit miserable down here in the south east. Having said that, most of the photos are bathed in sunshine. It’s the memory. It’s not what it was. I need an upgrade. And while they’re at it. Wait, no. I can’t remember what it was.

Anyway: Here are some pictures from the last few months, with occasional helpful comments.

The first four are from a walk on my birthday with Mr Walker:

  1. Oddly, Liz is always out when we call for tea at Balmoral every September. Last time, she'd put an armed policeman at tne gate, which I thought rather extreme.

    1. Our Liz is a wayward little minx. The soldier was just for show. She was just playing hard-to-get. You should have just barged in there and started the party. Liz loves a party, but her sister always used to get the rap.
These days, she blames that drug crazed son of hers. He'll end badly - Mark My Words.

    1. I love the Dales. There's drama there - huge, almost Fen-like skies - and sweeping views over the bare bones of the moor to the steep sides of the hill. There are larks - in February and a nithering wind. (Ta, Pieman :-) )

You bounce down soft boggy hillsides to the tearoom, for a heavy fruit cake and Yorkshire tea.

You have to love the place. It demands it.

    1. There will be more, but strangely, for a man who's not had a lot to do, I've been a bit tied up recently.
I'm off to Aviemore and the Lakes in April and then I shall see you, Sir, in Montrose, if not before!

  4. Great photos Alan. I particularly like the moody Dales one with the dark threatening Indigo sky. Of course it being in Gods country what else would you expect. Enjoy your coming expeditions and stay safe.
