This weekend I shall be camping unlawfully. I shall be wildcamping in the Lake District National Park.
You will recall that I have mentioned this before - It was only recently that I was made aware that it is unlawful to camp without the landowner's specific permission on land in England and Wales.
There is a petition on the 10 Downing Street website that you can find HERE that you can sign to kick-start the process that will harmonise a wildcamper's rights with the rights enjoyed in Scotland.
It is patently a nonsense that in order to enjoy a low impact quiet night's wildcamping in England you are committing an unlawful act.
But that is what I shall be doing this weekend.
